Questions, answered

What is Kin Da known for?
Thai food and sushi under one roof. From the Thai kitchen: khao soi, pad thai, drunken noodles and curries. From the sushi bar: nigiri, sashimi, classic rolls and the chef’s signature rolls. Kin Da means กินดะ — a Thai colloquialism for indulging in good food and drink.
Where is Kin Da, and is there parking?
6923 Laurel Ave, Takoma Park, MD 20912, in downtown Takoma Park. There is a large parking lot behind the restaurant, plus street parking nearby. We are about a 10-minute walk from the Takoma Metro station.
What are your hours?
Lunch and dinner seven days a week: 11:30 AM – 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM – 8:15 PM Monday to Friday, and 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM and 4:30 PM – 8:15 PM on Saturday and Sunday. Today’s hours are always on the home page.
Do you offer takeout and delivery?
Yes. Order online for pickup or delivery — we deliver with our own drivers and couriers. You can also find Kin Da on DoorDash and Uber Eats for delivery.
Is sushi available every day?
The sushi bar is closed on Mondays. The Thai kitchen is open as usual on Mondays, and sushi is back Tuesday through Sunday.
Do you have vegetarian or gluten-free dishes?
Yes to both. The Thai menu includes vegetable and tofu dishes, and most noodle, curry and stir-fry dishes can be made with tofu or vegetables. Gluten-free options are available — tell us when you order and we will point you to the right dishes.
Can I choose my spice level?
Yes. Most Thai dishes can be made mild, medium, hot or Thai hot — just ask.
Do you take reservations?
No, we do not take reservations — walk in any time we are open and we will seat you. Online ordering is for pickup and delivery, not for dining in; the one exception is our outdoor tables, where you are welcome to eat an online order.
Do you cater or take large orders?
Yes. We prepare catering and large orders for pickup or delivery. We do not provide on-site staff or service at your event.
Is Kin Da kid-friendly? Is there outdoor seating?
Yes — families are welcome and high chairs are available. We also have outdoor seating; note that outdoor tables are not full service.
Is the restaurant wheelchair accessible?
The entrance and dining room are wheelchair accessible. If you have questions about accessibility before your visit, please call us at (240) 582-5122.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes. Gift cards are available both in the restaurant and through our online ordering. The two are separate: a card bought online is used for online orders, and a card bought in the restaurant is used when dining in.
Can I order Thai food and sushi in the same order?
Yes — two kitchens, one table. Order a curry and a plate of nigiri together, in the restaurant or online.

A few highlights from recent Google reviews.

  1. We had the fried veggie dumplings, chirashi, drunken noodles, and mochi. Everything was excellent and the price was reasonable. Service was good and attentive. There isn't a lot of indoor seating but there's outdoor seating. It's not too loud inside. Love it and would come back!

  2. Love, love, love this place. I order takeout from them with great frequency. It's a fabulous local spot with good food and friendly staff. As a vegan, I really appreciate their variety of options and great labeling. It's so easy to know what I can eat, and I have never had a bad meal from there. Highly recommend!

  3. The food was excellent. Had crab Rangoon - hot, fresh, right out of fryer. Tom kha creamy and flavorful. I really loved spicy eggplant and cashew chicken. Eggplant dish was my favorite, just fantastic flavor, eggplants prepared so well, has a nice specimens to it. Cashew chicken superb. So glad to find new Thai places to try around the town. Service was great, the waitress very attentive. They offer 2 types of light Japanese beer. Seating outside is lovely but only for to-go orders.

  4. Clean restaurant with friendly service and very reasonable prices. Was able to try a wide assortment of dishes, which were all very tasty and flavorful. My favorite was the Pad Thai which had the signature salty, umami taste from the fish sauce. I think it's one of the best I've had in the area so I would definitely recommend that. The papaya salad was very refreshing and I especially liked the spicy sauce from the Prik King. My first time trying the mango sticky rice dessert. Despite mangos not being in season, I thought it was a great combination of flavors and never had anything quite like it. Overall, I think the food was very much worth the price and I will be back if in the area. Recommend!
